Jasmine’s first solo endeavour, Five Fat Fish, sees one woman journey into the world of synchronised swimming as she strives to recreate that world in her living room. This is a world inspired by Umbra the speed swimming dog and the films of the bathing beauty Esther Williams. You will find that you don’t need water to be a first class synchro swimmer. Five Fat Fish uses a ‘make-do’ approach to transform the ordinary, mixing personal accounts with fictional narrative to create a hopeful, and at times tragic, piece of theatre.
“The delight in this show comes from watching someone at play, there is a lightness, an optimism shared with the audience that perhaps together we can get Jasmine one step closer to her dream of being a solo synchronised swimmer” – Jo Bannon
